Jordan has three main airports. The largest is Queen Alia International Airport, located about 30 kilometres south of Amman, and it is the main gateway for international travellers.
The airport is modern and well connected, with direct flights to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. It has good facilities, including shops, restaurants and car rental.
Amman Civil Airport, also known as Marka Airport, is a smaller airport in the city, used mainly for domestic and regional flights. King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba serves the south and is popular for flights to and from Egypt.
For most visitors, Queen Alia is the arrival point.
