The Petra Museum, near the visitor centre, is a beautifully designed modern museum of Nabataean civilization — sculpture, the famous marble faces, water engineering models and the burned manuscripts from the Byzantine Church.
Air-conditioned and well-labelled, it is perfect before or after the site.
