Each summer the ancient colonnades of Jerash host the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts, Jordan's major celebration of music, dance and theatre. Performers from across the Arab world fill the Roman theatres with colour and sound.
The festival usually runs for two weeks from late July. Buy tickets in advance.
